National Council for Legal Affairs
Indian law refers to the system law which operations in India. It is largely based
on English common law. Various acts introduced by the British are still in effect
in modified form today. Much of contemporary Indian law shows substantial European
and American Law. This is a reason which strengthens the importance and role of
legal Affairs community.
The role of legal Affairs community in strengthening the democratic polity and the
principle of rule of law is a universal feature. The legal community represents
the most important and traditionally respected section of the society. The profession
has undoubtedly performed its duties in the larger interest of its people.
IBCHAM (Indian Business Chamber), in its endeavor to facilitate greater interaction
and understanding amongst legal fraternity of India, has constituted a separate
and dedicate National Council for Legal Affairs.
The objective of the council is to strengthen the relationship among all stakeholder
of legal world and in turn building an environment conducive to effective administration
of justice and maintenance of rule of law in India.
